About Happy Heart Beads

How many times had I read that quote? It occurred to me one day that if I could just sit down and chant with a smile on my face and remember, "I'm a Buddha," perhaps chanting wouldn't be such a chore. If I could sit down and begin to chant from a happy, appreciative place more consistently, maybe those obstacles would change more quickly!

I also realized that changing my perspective might allow me to enjoy chanting much more while creating even more value. Since the environment reflects what we put out there, I thought instead of complaining, a grateful, more positive daimoku would produce a much more joyful, positive result.

I decided I would sit down and make myself some happy, lighthearted, beautiful beads that would help me remember that when I looked at them… I determined that my prayer beads would say, "You are a Truly Magnificent Bodhisattva," and no matter what life looks like right now, don't forget that! You are winning! I couldn't help but smile each time I looked at those beads, and I wanted to sit down and chant with a HAPPY HEART.
